Why we exist
Most software is overpriced, over-scoped, and over-engineered. The tools have changed. A website that used to take a team of five three months can now be built, tested, and deployed in days.
We started Dark Labradors because we saw the gap between what modern AI-powered development can deliver and what most agencies still charge for. The economics of software development have shifted, and we think the pricing should shift with it.
How we work
We are not a traditional agency with account managers, project managers, and layers of process between you and the people building your software. We are a small, technical studio that uses AI to move at a pace traditional teams cannot match.
Every application we deliver uses open-source frameworks, standard hosting, and clean code. You own it. No lock-in, no proprietary platforms, no ongoing dependency on us unless you want it.
Quality is not optional
Every application passes six quality gates before you see it: functional verification, cross-device testing, security review, dependency audit, human code review, and production hardening. We do not ship rough drafts and call them MVPs.
We come from cybersecurity. That means security is not a line item we add at the end — it is embedded in how we build from the first commit. OWASP Top 10 review, dependency scanning, security headers, input validation, encryption at rest. These are not premium features. They are the baseline.
What we believe
Speed without shortcuts. You own everything. Real code, not toys. Honest pricing. These are not marketing slogans. They are the four constraints we measure every project against.
